Meet the Starrs
Welcome to our shop! Pottery of the Starrs is a woman owned family buiness founded by Maria and Neila Starr. We started our ceramic journey in 2011 and have been in love with pottery ever since. All of our pieces are food, microwave, and dishwasher safe. We double check all of our glazes and ensure they are lead free! Our materials are locally sourced and frequent are local pottery supply store for clay, stamps, and glazes. We hope you find joy looking through all our work!
After completing a few pottery lessons and attending as a vendor for a few events, Maria was hooked! She earned her Bachelor's in Art Marketing concentrating in Ceramics, Sculpture and Graphic Design despite Covid-19 in May, 2020. During her college years, she interned at an Arts Alliance and has been a member ever since. When she is not in the studio, she teaches workshops and her art is on display in the "Member Artist Gallery". She also enjoys paddle boarding, painting, and exploring. Meet our first mentor and the most supportive member of our team! Neila has a background in Human Resources and is an entrepreneur at heart. From working behind the scenes in bookkeeping to helping work one of our events, Neila has been the foundation of Pottery of the Starr's from day one! When she is not making pottery, she teaches yoga classes and working on her fitness journey.
